What V.C. Andrews book is it, that has Cathy going back to Foxworth Hall?
Q. I think I remember something like, she could smell death inside the house. In that same book, its also said that Cathy's mom had Cory buried in the house somewhere, so that was the smell Cathy had noticed. It was one of the books in the Dollanganger series I believe.

A. Your question caught my attention, and since it was answered correctly, I won't answer it again, I will just mention a bit of trivia that is not included in either of the links others so kindly supplied. I read an interview with him in a library journal, and he said that V.C. Andrews not only left synopses of her other stories, but in many cases actual detailed outlines plotting every chapter and every developement of her stories. Those are the ones he wrote first. I suspect that, since the critics say he isn't keeping up with the quality of her original works, he has run out of the more detailed outlines and is now left just with generalized synopses which he is trying to flesh out as best he can.

Q. hi, im 15 years old and a long time ago i went to a garage sale i got some books and it turned out a couple of them were written by v.c andrews. the first book i read was called 'Heaven' and i fell in love with that author instantly! I can't buy books at the moment so i was wondering where online i can read it for free. i searched online endlessly but cound't find anyting :(
Asked by Nicool - Thu Oct 15 00:27:04 2009 - Books & Authors - 3 Answers - Comments
A. The reason you could not find them is that they are recent books, published after 1923, so they are under copyright protection. Unless the author puts them online somewhere for free, or your local library has e-book versions available for download, you are probably out of luck. If your local library does not have paper copies, see if you can get them from another library through inter-library loan.

A. I haven't read anything but Flowers in the Attic, but I enjoyed it. I like how twisted her material is, how she'll even go as far to include incestuous themes -- I have a flair for disturbing material -- and all the hell she'll put her characters through. Some authors treat their characters like they're living and hate to put them through anything disastrous, so I find it admirable how Andrews will do so.

A. The author who now writes the V.C Andrews books was involved with the works of Virginia Andrews such as The Dollanger series and the Casteel series as well as My Name Is Audrina. Yes Virginia did die in 1986 but the current author has close personal knowledge with her works. Why do you think that V.C Andrews books aren't coming out so much anymore?? I have high quality books of every series but no doubles so I can't trade. ( believe me it took me a long time) but I just thought this would be an interesting piece of info contradict someone's answer that was trying to play down the brilliance of these books!! Don't stop coz while some are definately better than others each series is brilliant in their own right!! ENJOY!!

A. I can just think of one book at the moment that is a sort of family-saga-but-weird kind of book, which is also very good, and that is Pat Conroy's "Prince of Tides." I think you'll like it just fine. Although I'm unaware of them, Conroy may have written sequels, too. The librarian or bookstore clerk will know.

Ok, I know you don't want to hear about copyrights and authors respect and all, but I really don't think you'll be able to find any of her books online for free for that very reason - copyright wouldn't allow the book to be republished publicly and for free. Haha, I don't know about your reasoning that the money would go to her kids and grandkids lol. Anyway, I'd say your best bet would be to try and find a secondhand copy of her novels. You can do this by either looking online on places such as Amazon or Ebay (secondhand copies are much cheaper, obviously, and you can get some in really good condition). Amazon is a good option mainly if you're in the US, as the shipping to other countries can be… [cont.]
