A. I know that VC Andrews wrote many books that creeped me out on late summer nights at the cottage before she passed away. Her series of works continue to be written by a ghostwriter under her name due to their popularity. Please check out wikipedia's page for links and other information! Good luck!

Do you know of any writers out there who are comparable to V.C. Andrews?
Q. Does anyone know of any writers out there whose stories are comparable to V.C Andrews' stories? I love her books and I have read all of them. They are full of family secrets and deceptions and have a bunch of twists. I was just wondering if anyone knows of any stories that are comparable to hers and if there are who writes them? Thanks!

A. I agree. There just isn't anyone really who compares to her. I used to be really into her books. I own a ton of them, but after she passed away they published some things that she had written and then started finishing books that she had started, and in my opinion, the stories went WAY down hill. I haven't read one of her books in years.

What are the themes in the book 'My Sweet Audrina' by V C Andrews?
Q. I really need to know what the themes of the book are because I am a writing a book report on it. I know that one of theme is Man VS Self, because Audrina struggles to understand herself and also Pubescence, due to too much sex in the book, ha! Anyway, please help me find out more themes from the book. Thanks!

A. Maybe illusion versus reality? Her family completely altered her reality by messing up her sense of time. They also told her that her older sister was dead and had experienced something that really happened to her. It seemed that until she figured this out, she was always confused and didn't really know what day it was or what was going on. I hope this helps and you're able to find more specific examples...it's been a long time since I read that book.

Do you think Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews is appropriate for High school students?
Q. I read Flowers in the Attic for a Banned Book Project in Language Arts. I have to write a speech saying if I think the book should be Censored, restricted, or banned. I was planning on restricting the book to High school students and above. What do you think?
Asked by The Wolf@Young - Sun Jan 6 18:22:16 2008 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I think high school students are highly underestimated in comparison to the rest of the population. And books that seem inappropriate should be read in school so that students can learn to see the value in such books beyond the surface content, and will in future be able to read books like this meaningfully. Or else they will end up being "passed around" like deebakes remembers.

However, I cannot find the title "Gathering Clouds" anywhere. I've looked on Ebay and Amazon.com with no luck. Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase this title? Thank you for any help! A. V.C.Andrews is a woman and she is actually dead. She died a while ago, but they kept writing books in her name. The older ones I loved but I think the newer ones got kinda boring. But I recommend reading the older ones like the Flowers in the Attic series.

V.C. Andrews Books..?
Q. I am becoming a V.C. Andrew reader.. I read most of the Dollanger series and I am likely to buy a lot of her books on ebay. However I recently found some of the books in the lot at flea markets and yard sales making me have doubles. I was wondering if anyone was interested in trading? please let me know =) by the way when i said lot i mean like a bunch of books

A. The author who now writes the V.C Andrews books was involved with the works of Virginia Andrews such as The Dollanger series and the Casteel series as well as My Name Is Audrina. Yes Virginia did die in 1986 but the current author has close personal knowledge with her works. Why do you think that V.C Andrews books aren't coming out so much anymore?? I have high quality books of every series but no doubles so I can't trade. ( believe me it took me a long time) but I just thought this would be an interesting piece of info contradict someone's answer that was trying to play down the brilliance of these books!! Don't stop coz while some are definately better than others each series is brilliant in their own right!! ENJOY!!

A. I read 'Flowers in the Attic' and 'Petals on the Wind' a few years ago. I can't remember any details except for that I thought it was pretty twisted. The only reason I read them was because I watched the 'Flowers in the Attic' movie and was interested. I don't know how easily an interview could be conducted on here. Maybe if its on the shorter side you could just post one question at a time for different people to answer?

A. well, I've read The Dollanganger Series..which is Flowers In The Attic..and those that follow. I liked those ones a lot. I tried reading Melody..and a few others..but just couldn't get into them. I think the ones that were actually wrote by VC Andrews were the best..which weren't many..after she died, the family hired a 'ghost writer' to write under her name.. But check out her website, there is a description of every series.
