Whats the difference between series 1 and series 2 in basketball or baseball cards?
Q. I notice that in baseball there are only like 300 cards per series and there are over a 1000 players. Does every player make it on a card and why does series 2 usually come out much later than series 1
Asked by anthony m - Wed Mar 17 18:00:01 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Series 2 comes out later because the companies want to keep interest alive in their product over time, and dragging the series out accomplishes this. Not every player gets a card in a particular set. They cover players people care about most, like veteran starters and promising rookies. The bench jockeys get left out. But since there are so many sets out there, most of the bench jockeys appear in some company's set eventually.

What book series involves a Senior high school class who are gradually being murdered?
Q. I used to read this book series consisting of at least 5 separate books based on a senior class who has a curse on them. The front of the books have a "yearbook" of all the students and as they are murdered their pictures are exed out in the following books. This was a favorite series of mine and I just can't remember what the titles were, or who the author was.

A. I don't know a series, but there's a single book called Killing Britney by Sean Olin.

A. Well, I certainly hope you're not too concerned about understanding everything. If you're that kind of picky reader, I recommend reading Secret Invasion first if you haven't. But anyways, onto Dark Reign. The thing you have to get is that unlike Secret Invasion, 'Dark Reign' has no core series, no main series. It's made up of one-shots, limited series, and other already ongoing series from the Marvel Universe. It might seem rather long-winded, so let me break it down for you. Regarding these one-shots, you should read 'Dark Reign: The Cabal.' It sets the layout for the Cabal, a team that are a major part of the Dark Reign storyline. The limited series are just short series that explore how the Dark Reign affects certain groups of… [cont.]

How many episodes are in a series and when you starts a new series do you say Episode 1 of Season 2?
Q. 1. How many episodes are in a season or series. 2. When you start a new season or series, do you say Season 2, episode 1 or Season 2 episode whatever your on? The best answer gets 5 stars and 10 points!
Asked by Gummy Bear - Sun Mar 22 14:22:09 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. 1. about 20-25 episodes are in a season. 2. You say the season number and then specify the episode that falls under it. sometimes a TV show is denoted in it's episode number. For example Daria episode 205, indicates the episode is from the 2nd season given by the number 2 at the beginning and the 5 indicating that it's the fifth episode of that season. a series is the sum of all of the seasons of the show. That's why when you hear "series" finale, that means the show is done. Either finished or canceled. "season" finale just mean that the show has finished a season.

How do make multiple series on excel on a mac so that I can add different error bars to my data?
Q. I'm trying to graph the average of four different values. However, in order for me to be able to add error bars to each of the four bars individually, I have to be able to select them one at a time. I think that if I separate them as four different series, then I will be able to do so. I've already made them 4 different colors to make them look like separate series but I'm uncertain as to how I can separate them so that I can add individual error bars to them.

What purpose does a series capacitor on the output of the secondary side of transformer serve?
Q. I have a 110VAC to 14VAC AC/AC power supply that is broken - it feeds an audio amplifier. On the secondary side of the transformer in the supply there is a series capacitor (ceramic, small thing, probably 10's of nF) connected to on of the two pins from the output of the transformer. Is this likely for dc suppression or noise suppression? Since it is AC i assume the polarity is not important as to which pin the series capacitor is connected to? A. It is almost certainly not a capacitor (work out Xc at mains frequency.) It's more likely to be a thermistor, perhaps in lieu of a fuse.

What is the intertexuality between the Malory Towers Series and the Harry Potter Series?
Q. We're focusing on intertexuality in my English class. I had to find an example of two texts and the intertexuality between them. I choose The Malory Towers Series by Enid Blyton and The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling. Can anyone help me?
Asked by RamDog - Mon Feb 8 11:01:14 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. There are questions in the blogosphere as to whether Rowling copied certain themes from Blyton. Specifically, the fact that classic archetypes are used to represent good and evil - especially in the challenges that the protagonist faces. Also, the compensatory revelations that come from the "wise" archetype [Dumbledore] is almost an exact duplication from the M.T. series. Additionally, several of the sidekicks [Ron and Hermione] match Blyton's characters in their temperament and attitude. Stylistically though, Blyton shows a greater talent for plot flow while Rowling is masterful in imaginative creativity.

Why should a series motor always start with a load?
Q. Why should a series motor always start with a load? Why should a shunt motor always start without a load?

A. Series motors are designed to generate large starting torque. They draw heavy current producing 2.25 times the max rated torque at start-up. When there is no load connected, speed of a series motor increases to the point where the motor draws excessive current. Usually, either the bearings are damaged or the windings fly out of the slots in the armature. There is a danger to both equipment and personnel. This precaution is primarily for large motors. Small motors, such as those used in electric hand drills, have enough internal friction to load themselves. If the load on the shunt motor is increased, the motor tends to slow down. When this happens, the counter emf generated in the armature decreases. This causes a corresponding decrease… [cont.]
