A. Edgar A. Poe, Stephen King, John Steinbeck, Tom Clancy, John Grisham, Frank McCourt, Samuel Clemens!!, Stephen Crane, Walt Whitman, Herman Melville None of them are 'girly', and if you want something hilarious from Clemens, try his book, "Innocents Abroad"
