Q. Plz, a list of established American publisher I am not interested in Vanity press or subsidy publishers. I did my list but I want your opinion as experienced published writers. As I learned: a commercial publisher purchases the right to publish a manuscript and pays a royalty on sales. There are no costs to the author.

A. Sela C is right. There are countless publishers and The Writer's Market is probably the best place to find the one most suited to you. But if you've done any research, you should know that the chances of an unsolicited manuscript being read, much less accepted, by a publisher are slim to none. There are thousands of people out there who are convinced they have the next best-seller sitting on their desk. And publishers, especially established ones, can't be bothered to look at them all. You'll need an agent or extraordinary luck until you're an established writer. Submit your work to every publisher who might be interested in whatever you wrote, not just people on your list.
